Each morning we do days of the week, months of the year and name recognition. We have circle time with music and movement. We break in to centers, which can consist of academics, art, computer, speech (twice a week) and manipulatives. Next we go back to circle for literacy. This is just a brief overview of our morning for you. We hope everyone has a great week!

Hey there Parents! Can you believe this beautiful weather? After last week's fog, rain and cold, this sunshine and 60 degree weather is awesome. We hope you had a chance to get outside yesterday with your child.
It may be a short week , but we hit the ground running today. Our book this week is Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? by Bill Martin Jr. Our letter is W. Today the children had speech during centers. We rotated from academics, to art, to computer, to speech. We also enjoyed circle time, music and movement and literacy today. After lunch we had some fresh air and good ole play time. Believe it or not parents, Mondays are typically very good days. Although yesterday was foggy, cold and rainy you would never have know it. We did manipulatives, computer and one on one academics.
We did The Mitten one more day and today began All You Need For A Snowman by Alice Schertle. Our letter this week is W. Parents, please keep abreast of the weather these next few months. Make sure your child is dressed appropriately and has proper protection from frigid temperatures. Also, please DO NOT send your child to school if they are not well. Even if you give them tylenol or something similar in the morning they begin to feel bad again mid day. And if they were running a temp before given the medication, they have exposed all the children in the class as well as the teachers. The only way we can keep a healthy classroom is with your help and consideration for the other children. We appreciate your cooperation. We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season. We were so happy to see our friends back this morning. Our friends also seemed happy to see us and to be back at school.
We are starting our new year with the book The Mitten by Jan Brett. Check it out online and share with your child. We are reviewing all letters we learned first semester. If you would like to review them with your child at home they are: A, B, C, D, E, G, M, K, V, N, P, and X. Parents, cold weather is upon us!! Please be sure your child is adequately dressed in the mornings. (Coat, Hat, Mittens, Scarves, etc.) Layers are always a good idea. |
